Unit four covers the materials which are use in the classroom to aid the lesson. There are two types of materials, authentic and non-authentic. Authentic materials are those that are produce not for the class like company brochure, advertisements, magazine, etc. Non-authentic materials are those that are created specifically for the lesson like text books, worksheets, puzzles, etc.. There are advantage and disadvantage for both and they should be considered when planning the lesson. The unit also cover the lesson plan and how to create it. This was cover in more detailed in the ESL course.
