This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit reviewed the grammatical past tenses in English, and also discussed conditions that required their usage. What I found most useful about this lesson was the apparent transition from teaching grammar for the sake of grammar vs. taking grammar for the sake of function. I personally found it useful not to think of the past simple continuous tense as a tense required when discussing an action continuing in the past, but instead the tense we need when describing our vacation last weekend, or using the past perfect continuous tense for establishing an alibi before a crime was committed. I like the marriage of function and grammar, and plan to continue using this in my lessons.
