A teacher should always have lessons planned ahead of time. At the same time, they should keep note that they are subject to change according to the students? needs and progress. A certain lesson may be planned for only one day when in reality, students need to spend more time on that certain topic. Therefore, although teachers should have their day, week and month planned ahead, they need to be flexible and be able to adapt accordingly. Lesson plans should definitely not be a script since this is not a television show. The teacher?s audience is students who are putting in much effort to learn a second language. A teacher should also evaluate their lesson plans after classes end and constantly adjust and work to reach a better curriculum than the previous.
