The study of future tenses in common use in the English language can be daunting. The grammatical formation of the various future tenses can be memorized easily however the situational usages that are considered appropriate can be confusing. Some of the tenses sound more formal than others such as the future perfect continuous tense. For example, \"I will have been married for ten years next month\" sounds cumbersome. One can rephrase the idea and have it sound less formal and stilted by saying, \"Next month is my ten year anniversary.\" In addition, the future perfect tense sounds somewhat formal. Phrases such as, \" I will have graduated by next year\" can be rephrased this way \"I graduate next year.\" One should consider one's audience when choosing these future tenses. The formal style is beautiful and almost poetical however, in my opinion, inappropriate in a blue collar or other informal setting where a more common grammar form would be more appropriate and less likely to engender division or discomfort.
