The attitude of the teacher is what is going to set the stage for the lesson. When giving instructions, they must be very clear and you should show an example before giving out worksheets for completion. This way it shows what the expectation is. Whole class involvement makes everyone want to participate. Pairing up students helps the weaker student feel better and are more likely to participate.
Presentation on the board helps a lot for visual along with the pictures brought in and the gestures and miming.
The second was a good lesson except I thought some samples would have been better before the first worksheet, just like with the second worksheet where they all got it right.
