This unit was a concise presentation of the complexities surrounding the tense system of the English language, specifically regarding the present tenses; present simple, present continuous (or present progressive), present perfect and the present perfect continuous tense. Along with a short definition and their form, this unit also provided clear examples of each of the present tenses and their usages in the English language; affirmative, negative and question examples were all provided and covered. Prior to this unit, I had little concrete and definitive knowledge regarding the differences between the present perfect and the present perfect continuous tenses! However, now I believe that I have a sound knowledge of the two differing present tenses and this will help contribute to my future classes regarding the present tenses.
