I have learnt the important of knowing phrasal verbs , modals and passive voice which enhances my ability to teach my student the correct grammatical structures when writing or speaking. The importance of these structures cannot be overstated as the mastery of these areas gives greater form and nuance to the spoken and written ability of my students. For example, knowing when to use the active and passive voice can greatly influence how they write. They should know that using the active voice puts an emphasis on the speaker while the passive voice makes it less explicit or less important to know who is involved.
