This lesson was quite interesting in how it broke down the different types of reading. I benefited from the lesson plan examples, as this is helping it to gel in my mind what the different phases are comprised of, that one phase can have 3 components, for example. The careful selection of texts is an important point albeit intuitive, and I like the point that the topics should encompass a wide variety over time in order to interest a wide range of student interest. Perhaps a poll could be taken on Day 1 (assuming the teacher keeps the same class over time) to take stock of the individuals' interests.
