This unit gave a brief overview of two kinds of things involved in learning (and thus teaching) a new language, and how we might approach teaching these. The first topic that was discussed was 'learning new vocabulary'. The unit described several elements of this to focus on, namely to make sure students understood the meaning, the use, the grammar and form of use and the pronunciation and spelling of the new words. It gave examples of what activities could help teach this, and how to approach them during the different phases of the lesson. The second topic explained the same for teaching new grammar.
