This unit covered course materials, specifically the types of course materials and how to properly implement them. A teacher may use authentic material, created material, or course books. All of them seem to have value in the classroom. I would say that the course books are presented in the unit as a tried and true method, but they come with a lot of drawbacks. The authentic material seems to be most helpful in smaller, controlled doses. The created material appears to be the most popular main method for keeping the lesson feeling fresh. This unit gave me a good overview of the tools at my disposal and how to go about selecting them for a particular class.
