Unit 6 covered the principles of the tenses related to past time periods. Simple Past (I wrote), Past Continuous ( I was writing), Past Perfect ( I had written), and Past Perfect Continuous ( I had been writing for an hour when there was a knock on the door). I learned that all continuous forms have some form of the verb \"to be\" plus \"ing\" form of the verb. All perfect forms feature the form \"to have\" if the verb \"to have\" is in the present it will be present perfect. Perfect Continuous forms feature \"to have\" plus \"been\" plus \"ing\" form of the verb. If the verb \"to have\" is in the present it will be present perfect continuous and if the verb \"to have\" is in the past then it is past perfect continuous.
