This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Past tenses relate to past time periods. There are 4 forms of past tenses which are past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. We use past simple for completed actions in the past, past continuous for progress in the past and past perfect for representing actions that occurred before another actions in the past, past perfect continuous for longer actions or situations in the past and we do not know whether or not continued after.
We can use some activities teaching past tenses. To give an example, telling stories about the past and discussing past events in conjunction with past continuous and past perfect, also we can play a detective game by asking questions about specific time. We need to pay attention the common mistakes that students make.
