This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covers different teaching methodologies and also provides information/advice for giving feedback and making corrections. I was introduced to the ESA or Engage, Study, Activate teaching method. I found the example lesson plans for each of the different types of ESA plans to be really helpful as well as the example activities for each stage of the lesson plan. Working through this unit made me reflect back to when I was learning Spanish and how some of my teachers structured the lessons. This made me realize that some of my teachers periodically used a straight-arrow ESA plan to present new language. The information provided about making corrections was one of the most helpful for me personally because, due to my personality, I was slightly worried about being confident to correct others without worrying that I've made the person upset.
