To create actively involving class teacher needs to know how to apply the different speaking activity, i guess mostly controlled and guided activity should proceed Creative communication activity. This process demands careful planning in terms of student's ability and the classroom dynamics.
My take is to be a holistic manager for the class from the set up to evaluation of the class activity. Always focus on process itself rather than product is the key. Also to practice creative writing skill the example of cartoon group work was great. I think that student will enjoy writing about their favorite things as well. I should not forget game as an extra boost to cheer the class atmosphere up so the class can be fun filled learning stage.
