The rules of grammar can be confusing to a non-English speaker who mustn't be overwhelmed and made to feel inferior as a result of simple improper usage of the English language. The language usage in the classroom can be gently modeled by examples of proper usage in song or poetry or classroom activities wherein the correct forms are valued and studied. Of course, not every one values the tradition and skills necessary to exact standardized performance in the art of public speaking and writing.
