We use the future simple tense to talk about: - facts and activities/events which are certain (He will be late. It's quarter past three) - promises (I will help you with that) - predictions with no present evidence (I think it will be sunny on Monday) - assumptions or speculations (The price of fuel will go up in July) - quick decisions (I'll get the door) - threats (I will tell the boss whose fault it is). The future continuous tense is used to predict the present (She will be probably playing with kids now), for certain arrangements in the future (The manager will be driving at 5 o'clock), polite and gentle invitations or enquiries without influencing other people's decision (Will you be changing the curtains in the room?). The expression \"to be going to\" with infinitive is used to talk about plans or intensions (I'm going to change the job next year) as well as predictions with present evidence (I can see he's going to change the job soon). The present simple tense is used for more formal situations (The company organizes an event) and with timetables and schedules (The bus leaves at 7.30). The present continuous tense is used for explaining definite arrangements (We're going on holiday on 22nd July. We already have the tickets) as well as general decisions without specified time (She's leaving).
