This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit there are 2 lesson plan videos. In the 1st video the attitude of the teacher towards the students was inappropriate. The teacher found the lesson too easy and did not explain the students about the auxiliary verb and expected the students to know about them. Thus the class was inattentive, confused and bored. The teacher also did not know the names of the students and used roll no's to call out the students thus the rapport between the students and the teacher was missing. There was no eye contact, no smiling and no participation from the students thus the class was interactive and lively. There was no connectivity between the study, activate and engage phases. Whereas in the 2nd lesson the teacher built a good rapport 1st with the students by introducing himself and getting to know the students. He then 1st made connections between the animals and the auxiliary verb and gave scope for the students to participate actively . There was a good flow and connectivity maintained between the different phases of learning. The class was active, interactive, lively and participative.
