This unit lists some teaching methods of different groups of learners. Teaching should be adapted to the type of learners because learners learn differently whether they are children or adults, beginners or advanced.
The first concerns the teaching of beginners. I learnt the categories of beginners: the absolute, the false, the adult, and the young beginners and the beginner without Roman alphabet. It?s important for the teacher to be as clear as possible when speaking and explaining the lesson.
The second method deals with children. Children are quick learners if the teacher motivates them, involves them in the activities and makes his lessons fun. When teaching children, one should bear in mind that they are often affected by extra-school events, e.g. problems at home. Thus the teacher should take all these aspects into account when preparing to the class.
Another teaching method concerns business English. The difficulty that the teacher may come through is to have different levels in the same class and tiredness of learners who come to the class after work. So the teacher should adapt his teaching to these factors to achieve the goal and meet the needs of everyone.
There are other teaching methods like individual teaching or teaching in monolingual/multilingual classes. Whatever the type of the class is, the teacher should adapt his lesson to the environment, to the leaners? needs?
