This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
the first lesson had every single bad feature of a teacher - he was repeating how easy it is which in fact made the students feel incompetent and humiliated. he spoke fast, used grammar concepts difficult for them and did not seem like he was enthusiastic to teach. Students were pretty bored and probably counting the minutes for the lesson to end. He did not really care if they understood or not. He kept asking them what there name was and did not even keep note of it. he did not introduce himself - All in all a true disaster of a class. Teaches what we should Never do. very good lesson -The unit looks at the importance of modal verbs, phrasal verbs, the passive voice and relative clauses. I found this rather difficult and will continue to dedicate a bit more study to my knowledge of grammar use, sentence structure following this unit. I did find the transitive and intransitive types one of the harder subjects to get my head around as I am sure there are many more to learn about until it is fluent.
Despite this, I found the beginning of the unit very simple and easy to understand without having to revise to much. Particularly in the use of formality, or obligatory words.
