Unit 20 discussed the different types of students that I will potentially come in contact with throughout my teaching career. Building rapport with students could potentially be difficult, but will need to be established the first lesson. I will also need to get to know my students and discuss with them their hopes and aspirations in terms of the English language. There are a few different ways that I can do about doing this, one of which is a questionnaire or survey. Throughout my career as a teacher, I may also at some point teach a large class. When teaching a large class I should incorporate group/pair work when I can so that I am able to get all students involved. I may also experience students who are reluctant when learning English. If this is the case, the lesson should incorporate group work so that the students can practice in a safe and controlled environment without feeling overwhelmed. Each class will present it self with new challenges, but I am looking forward to my future career as a EFL teacher.
