Lesson one made me feel uneasy. Being a teacher myself I saw the flaws immediately. The teacher was aggressive, frustrated, and had no empathy for the students. Students were uncomfortable because, even though they were struggling, the teacher kept telling them how easy the work was and how anybody could complete the task. In the second lesson the teacher was upbeat, had humor, and gained participation from his students in return. Student talk was up in this lesson and teacher talk was lowered. Students were not embarrassed to get the wrong answer and therefore took more risks in their learning.
