This unit talks about the use of classroom materials and course books. The two main types of lesson materials are authentic materials and created materials; each has its own advantages. For example, authentic materials are more interesting and can help with students' confidence to deal with real life material; created materials can be graded to the level of the students. There are also pros and cons regarding the using of a course book. Generally, a teacher should not base everything around a course book and should always stay creative and conscious of the students' background and language level.
