The breakdown of the effects that different types of course materials and books and how they can encourage students and the teacher seemed to be the forefront of this unit. From experience, I do know that following a coursebook completely and not using supplemental materials can definite cause students to lose interest in the lesson, since it is so predictable and leaves no room for entertainment. Allowing students to be creative and using topics that interest them can help them grasp the lesson and the language being taught so that it doesn't come off as boring, lackluster, and overall predictable, so much so that the students don't care for the information being taught.
