This unit gives an overview of the grammatical structures, usages, common student errors, and teaching ideas of the future tenses. Even though the simple future, be going to, and the present progressive are all used to express the future, subtle distinctions, such as spontaneous decisions and planned decisions about future action, are pointed out in this unit. As usual, I find the teaching ideas sections most helpful and inspiring as I am always on the look out for new ways to make lessons more engaging in the classroom. For example, I love the idea of using the Beatles' song \"When I'm 64\" in a lesson on the simple future. I would love to use Whitney Houston's \"I Will Always Love You\" in the same lesson, too!
