This unit reflects on the use of course books, authentic materials and created materials. Course books can be useful because they provide a graded syllabus which is suited for the level of the students. They can also be changed by either supplementing with more suitable material or omitting unsuitable material. Authentic materials such as newspapers, magazines, etc. can be useful because they are more interesting and suited to the interests of the class. Created materials are useful because they include fun activities for the students to fill out and can be created specifically to the level of the students.
