In unit 16 I have learnt how to recognize and how to distinguish conditional clauses which include the zero conditional clause, the first conditional clause, the second conditional clause, the third conditional clause and a mix of the second and the third conditional clause. Six different teaching ideas for conditionals were also included in this unit and those are valuable tools for a ESA style lesson. I have learnt how to teach the difference between direct speech and reported speech. When direct speech is modified to reported speech the verb changes, the pronoun can change and the time expression changes as well. However, there are exceptions to the rule so it is important to teach this complex subject slowly.
