I this unit, I learned the importance of teaching pronunciation. It is important because it helps an individual to be understood when he/she speak. It is helpful in communicating appropriately and fluently towards others. I learned tecniques such as humming or singing, making marks on the board, by gestures and nonsense word in indicating ang teaching intonation. The patterns of intonation should be learned so an individual will know how to respond and understand what the speaker is saying. International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) is very important because it is a guide in the correct pronunciation of words. With this, learner could be able to pronounce any word in the dictionary accurately.
