A good teacher should want and be capable of acknowledging the quality of their lesson plans. Good teachers continue to work and improve their teaching skills in order to make the class as successful and enjoyable as possible. To create an effective classroom, a good teacher will use their lesson plans as a means of self-evaluation. To do so the teacher will be sure to make notes throughout the lesson and focus on the strengths and weakness of each lesson. A good lesson plan is organized, includes aims, learner objectives, language point, procedure, phase, and timing. A lesson plan should also include the expected number of students, teaching aids, interaction, and anticipated problems. It is important to remember when writing down a lesson plan to keep it simple, do not script the lesson plan, and always be flexible and prepared for adaptation.
