This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I learned that an auxiliary verb is a verb that adds functional or grammatical meaning to the clause in which it appears, such as to express tense, aspect, modality, voice, emphasis, etc. Auxiliary verbs usually accompany a main verb. The main verb provides the main semantic content of the clause. The meaning are usually connected with ideas of DOUBT, CERTAINTY, POSSIBILITY and PROBABILITY, OBLIGATION and PERMISSION. You will see that they are not used to talk about things that definitely exist, or events that definitely happened. Passive voice is used when the focus is on the action. It is not important or not known, however, who or what is performing the action.
