This unit talks about the importance of teaching grammar, vocabulary and language functions, as well as the various methods that can be used to teach them. These methods follow the ESA (Engage-Study-Activate) pattern discussed in previous units. It also provides examples on how to teach grammar, vocabulary and language functions more effectively using the ESA method. This unit is very enlightening to me. Since I learned English naturally, I had never thought of it as a combination of grammar, vocabulary and language functions. I am sure that the explanations and examples provided in this unit will greatly help me to be a more effective and efficient teacher in the future.
