The teacher must be aware of verb tenses in order to appropriately guide students to fluency. Many native speakers have a tacit knowledge of grammar rules such as the present tense forms. But, the challenge is when that person attempts to convey this knowledge conceptually to the student. How will the student ever truly gain understanding if the teacher cannot make the conceptual leap themselves? This unit again displays the irregularity of the English language and the nuances of grammatical structure. I value the straight forward approach of the unit to list common mistakes made by students. The structure of the content material will help me be a better prepared teacher.
