This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I took Latin for seven years, so I've already had the chance to think about the ins and outs of English grammar. That being said, the refresher course was good, and it was good to have an explicit lesson in English grammar rather than Latin grammar. This unit also made me appreciate how relatively easy it is to learn Chinese grammar. Chinese nouns don?t need to be declined, and the verbs don?t need to be parsed. Chinese grammar is all in the syntax rather than various forms of one word. If you grow up knowing Chinese, it?s understandably difficult to learn a language like English, which requires so many variations of each word. And obviously an English teacher needs to know the basics of English before teaching. Very helpful unit.
