The first classroom video was rather painful to watch, because the teacher was not making an effort to make the students comfortable, and especially because the teacher did not pick up on the fact that the students were confused and disconnected from the lesson. The second classroom video was much better, as the teacher smiled, engaged the students, and paired them up. The students in the second video seemed happy and interested. However, the second video also had some flaws. The teacher called on the students in order, and the same student in each pair did the writing for the worksheets both times. Also, I think students could have been more involved by writing the names of animals on the whiteboard (vs. the teacher writing all of the names).
