Teachers of English must be mindful of the audience, i.e. the background, motivations, age, and experience of their students. Business English teachers should not be nervous if they don't know about the students' industry. Instead, they should conduct a needs negotiation to find out what the students' needs are in English, and what types of responsibilities they have to use English. With each population, comes special needs and special considerations, whether it's young children, monolingual or multilingual groups. The teacher must be mindful of the benefits and aware of and plan for potential challenges.
