This unit introduces various aspects of teaching special groups including beginners, individuals (one-on-one teaching), young learners, business English and monolingual vs. multilingual teaching. All the introductions on these groups will help me understand the groups better and make my teaching in future more effective. As I am planning to move back to China to teach English there, the features of teaching monolingual class attracted my attention immediately. As most of Chinese students intend to speak their native language in English classes, lots of English teachers speak Chinese most of the time as well. I would like to change this language teaching and learning language pattern and encourage students to speak English all the time, or at least 95% of the class hours.
