This unit was provided an overview of the various ways and skills that an EFL teacher can adopt and employ to their advantage to successfully manage the classroom environment. The unit stressed the importance of the teacher?s use of eye contact, gestures and voice to establish good rapport with students, enforce discipline, encourage student talk time (STT) and providing good and clear explanations to the class. I, for one, didn?t realise the importance of not losing one?s temper with a misbehaving and unruly student, and this unit has provided with a greater range of preventions to stop problem behaviour within the classroom; for example, not letting personal feelings influence my treatment of students and being a consistent and fair teacher at all times
