We are so used to the way we speak. This unit challanges you to look at the exact pronounciation of every word and sentence. I did not realise the effect a simple stress can have on a word. Depending on which word I stress within a sentence, the meaning of it changes. Same with words if you dont put the stress on the right syllable it would be hard to understand the word properly. There are different rules that help to differenciate to where to put the stress in what words. For example most two syllable adjectives or nouns have the stress on the first syllable while most 2 syllable verbs have the stress on the last syllable.
