Unit seven outlined the considerations and methods to use when teaching new language. It looked at the acquisition of new vocabulary, grammar and language functions. From this, I can now comprehend how as a teacher I am to select how and what to teach my students. Factors such as frequency and meaning must be taken into consideration when selecting how an why to teach various vocabulary. In addition to this, the unit provided examples of clear lesson structure that can be used when teaching the various aspects of new language. Depending on the class and nature of the topic, it may be appropriate to use a straight arrow, boomerang or patch work approach.
