Unit 14 discussed the use of coursebooks and other materials in lessons. It discussed the advantages and disadvantages of using a coursebook, as well as providing explanations and examples of supplementary material that can be created by the teacher to utilize alongside or independent of a coursebook. It provided examples of a roleplay activity which is helpful for students to utilize new language in practice with their fellow students. We also learn in this lesson what we need to look at when selecting a coursebook (especially important as I have personally experienced in learning a second language, as an uninteresting or too expensive coursebook can detract from the learning experience, and supplementary materials that allow us to communicate in the second language play a huge role in producing fluency.)
