This lesson shows the importance of understanding your students. Much of the teacher's unpleasant attitude in the first lesson seems as though it stems from his frustration with the students (e.g. they do not immediately pick up on the new material that he believes is easy). His preconception about the students' ability to learn goes on to negatively affect the entirety the lesson. In the second video, the teacher approaches the lesson with much more sympathy. He has no issues with sacrificing a bit of lesson time to engage the students and make them feel welcome to participate. This feeling of openness helps the students learn and pay attention once the new material is introduced.
