In Unit 18 we have focused on modal and phrasal verbs, and active and passive voice. Modal verbs are used to express obligation, probability, permission ability or advice. Some modal verbs allows us to adapt our sentences to more informal or informal situations. Active and passive voices change the meaning of the information we are communicating: are we putting emphasis on the subject that \"makes something happen\", or are we putting the emphasis on that \"something\" which happens? Finally, phrasal verbs are a world of their own and are word compounds of verb + preposition, or verb + preposition + adverb. Grammatically, phrasal verbs function like simple verbs even though they are formed by two or three separate words.
