This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This final grammar unit covered modal verbs, the passive voice, relative clauses, and phrasal verbs. It covered the different rules and usages of each of these aspects of grammar. Modal verbs add meaning to the main verb and can be used to communicate things like obligation and ability. The passive voice is used when the person who performs an action is not being communicated for some reason. Relative clauses are dependent clauses that modify a noun. They are also known as adjective clauses. Phrasal verbs are verbs that consist of a verb and one or two particles that all operate as one item. This unit helped me see the different types of evaluation performed in language schools, and the types of certification available for students learning English. All tests are important for the successful running of the course. Placement tests are carried out to define the level of the student and his allocation to the right course. Progress tests are performed throughout the course to check what has been learned and where more focus is required. Diagnostic tests are performed at the beginning of the course. Practice tests are a preparation for an external exam outside of the language school.
