Unit 19 discusses methods on how to teach English to certain groups of people, i.e. young children, business people, beginners, and individuals. Although the topics introduced to these groups may be different, some teaching methods can be applied to all groups mentioned previously. Teachers must prepare each lesson thoroughly focusing on the groups' or individual needs and provide a variety of materials to keep the lessons interesting. In order to find out about the students' English needs and prepare future lesson plans, teachers can ask students to fill in a 'needs' analysis. Besides that, teachers must encourage the use of English within the classroom and give positive feedback to all students without fail. The unit also presents problems that may arise within the classroom and suggestions on how to teach specific groups of people.
