This chapter gave an overview on some of the things involved specifically with teaching a new language. It discussed three topics that students need to learn, including vocabulary, grammar, and language functions. The chapter went over the different factors involved in selecting material and matching it to a class, and then gave some example activities--as well as lessons--for some of these aspects of language. The most valuable things I took from the chapter were the examples of activities for various materials. As someone who has already been teaching, I was familiar with much of the content, but I found the activity suggestions giving me ideas for future lessons.
