This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit was short, sweet, and to the point, which is definitely appreciated when learning about the nitty gritty aspects of the grammar world. Focus is easier to maintain, and it's easier to set aside time for it, when the lesson is shorter. Beyond the length allowing for better focus and completion in one sitting, this unit was digestible because the rules for the various forms of past tense are similar to those already learned about in present tense. This allowed for the information to be absorbed and understood more simply. Repetition is a great method of learning and memorization. As with some of the other grammar units in this course, there can stand to be some elaboration. I think these chapters would be far more effective if there was a breakdown of the examples so we can get a better idea of the construction of the sentence in question. I don't feel like I am getting a firm enough grasp of the material without clearer examples. It is good to have such a refresher, but I firmly believe we could get much more out of it if, instead of cramming several major points of grammar into one lesson, we broke these up and put them into shorter, but more explanatory units.
