This unit reviews techniques for teaching special groups such as beginners or ESP such as buisness English. I have learned that there are different types of beginners such as the absolute beginner: students with no English at all, the false beginner: students who have studied English before but do no remember much, the adult beginer:students who have made their own decision to study English and are therefore highly motivated, the young beginner:students who havent made the choice to study English themselves therefore often lack motivation, and the beginner without roman Alphabet: these students will need a lot of initial work on basic literacy skills. For buissness English one must start the course by conducting a needs analysis to be able to plan the course according to the students needs for learning English. I have also learned that when teaching children the teacher must not use their native language and keep the activities short and fun.
