This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covered modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. Of the grammar units in this course, this one was one of the more challenging. There are subtleties to these parts of English that will be initially lost on newer students. I appreciated that this unit came at the end because the other grammar lessons built on the information in it. One of the definite challenges in teaching this will be, no doubt, being able to define the terms in a simplified, clear way that doesn't come across too much as \"ESL speak.\"§1491986720

It focused on modal auxiliary verbs, passive voice, and phrasal verbs as well as an overview on relative clause. In this unit, I learned basic rules of modal auxiliary verbs, their usages, and ideas on how to teach them effectively in the classroom. An example of modals are might, should, may, could, need to, etc and they can be used to express ability, possibility, obligation and so on. The second section of this unit was about passive voice, it covered both its structures and usages, the chart on page five was really helpful. There was also teaching ideas to back it up. I really learned a lot in this unit, how to identify two types of relative clauses and different types of phrasal verbs, As a native speaker, I make use of them but I couldn't have taught it effectively because I was unaware of how to explain them in the classroom but this unit has made it easier for me.
