There is more to being a teacher than simply teaching of the material. A teacher must have control of a class, and provide an equal opportunity to every student to learn. This control must manifest in a number of ways. There will be students who will always want to speak up and dominate the class, and there will be students who will never want to speak at all, and the teacher must find strategies to optimize the learning of both these kinds of students, and all the students in between these two extremes of confidence.
A good teacher must consider many things when managing their class. These things range from fairly simple, like how, where, and why the students will be seated, to things that can be more difficult, such as building rapport with students, and finding strategies for discipline such that the teacher maintains control of a class, but does not lose the respect of the students, nor jeopardize their potential for learning.
