The unit deals with the different theories, methods and techniques of teaching English. In this Unit I was informed about the origin of the teaching techniques currently used by teachers and that I could use to students. I learnt the method you choose to use to your students has an effect on what they can learn from the lesson, the advantages and disadvantages of each teaching technique.
I learnt of the ESA method of teaching English which is currently being used by most teachers of the English language and that involves engaging the students in your lessons, giving them study aids such as worksheets and the final stage which is to encourage them to activate and make use of the language as well as the context of what they have recently learnt.
