A wide variety of factors should be considered when creating a safe and comfortable work environment for students of all ages. Things to be considered include a teachers manner of conduct such as fluctuating ones voice to prevent monotony and using hand gestures and miming as a visual aid. A teacher should not turn their backs to the students when writing on the board and when so, limited. One of the teachers goals is to increase as much student talk time as possible without having the students take advantage of the teacher and increasing the overall volume of the class. It's important to maintain a calm composure and if needed- correct a problem behavior in a non disruptive manner. Most importantly a teacher should be encouraging and enjoy what they're doing.
